VMS deposits can have resources totalling 40-50 million tonnes and in some cases giant fields contain in excess of 100 million tonnes, such as the Kidd Creek deposit in Canada.
Examples of this class of deposit occurring in Australia include Golden Grove, Jaguar / Bentley and Degrussa.
Venturex holds granted exploration and mining tenements covering approximately 27 kilometres of strike along the Panorama Trend which is a known VMS mineralised horizon. The Panorama Trend hosts the Sulphur Springs and Kangaroo Caves copper-zinc deposits with a current metal endowment >230,000 Cu metal tonnes and >700,000 Zn metal tonnes.
The region is considered to have significant potential for the discovery of large VMS systems and for the expansion of known resources, particularly at depth below existing mineralisation and at further stratigraphic levels.
Whim Creek Greenstone Belt
The Whim Creek Project covers part of the Whim Creek and Mallina Greenstone Belts.
The company has identified four deposits: Whim Creek, Mons Cupri, Salt Creek and Evelyn with a combined metal endowment >90,000 Cu metal tonnes and >160,000 Zn metal tonnes.
The company has multiple, high quality exploration targets along the mineralised trend and is targeting additional Resources that will facilitate the development of a mining hub as a compliment to the company’s flagship Sulphur Springs project.
