The Project area covers 18,592Ha.
The Grande Canaã Project, located approximately 45km by road from Novo Progresso, surrounds a currently active garimpo where gold is being recovered by five individual sluices washing gravels and bedrock ores. While partly alluvial, the ore is predominantly mined from in-situ stockwork veining and highly altered and weathered granites. Channel sampling of stockwork quartz veining and oxidised stringers produced a result of 10m @ 1.27 g/t Au. Another composite sample of vein reject material collected over a 40m x 40m area, returned an assay of 5.31g/t Au.
