The Project area covers 9,759Ha.
In mid 2011, a 19 hole auger sampling program was
completed over artisanal workings of the Marimbond Garimpo. Sampling
continued on a regional 200m x 200m grid to test for extensions and
parallel mineralisation. Auger sampling has proved to be a robust
technique to penetrate disturbed soils and the upper leached
saprolite profile to provide samples of weathered bedrock. The
transported profile at the Marimbond Garimpo has up to 7m of
alluvial sand and basal gravels. The majority of garimpo
activity has concentrated on the gravel/saprolite contact.
Trenching by prospectors has uncovered numerous
narrow mineralised veins. Rock chip samples collected from vein
material in the east of the lease have also returned positive
results up to 0.8g/t Au. Existing tracks to the target are being
improved to provide access for further sampling and geological
mapping.
